Provided is a novel industrial process for manufacturing pieces of polystyrene foam (EPS) having an arbitrary length and a constant transversal section, also comprising density mixtures located by zones according to the mechanical and thermal properties required for each application thereof. A machine (device) is also included for manufacturing the solid pieces comprising density mixtures and a product made of polystyrene foam (EPS) having an arbitrary length and a transversal section presenting a constant geometry, comprising density mixtures located by zones, which are defined by the mechanical and thermal properties required by the application thereof. The manufacture of said products is carried out by attaching partially pre-cooked segments having the same or different densities, both in longitudinal and transversal directions. The present invention may reduce the traditional process down to three steps, thus generating savings in the manufacturing process, allowing variants not i ncluded in the traditional process to be manufactured, thereby widening the application range of said type of products. |
