PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent overvoltage from being applied to a microcomputer in a battery pack and being damaged. SOLUTION: The battery pack 21 comprises a battery case 33, comprising a first end face 33A, a second end face 33B that opposes the first end face 33A, and a connection surface for connecting the first end face 33A and the second end face 33B; an internal battery 23 connected to a pair of power terminals 25, 26 stored in the battery case 33; and a microcomputer 21A, having a function for communicating the state of the internal battery 23 stored in the battery case 33 to the outside via a communication terminal 24. In the battery pack 21, the power terminals 25, 26 are provided to the first end face 33A, the communication terminal 24 is positioned between the positive and negative electrode terminals of the power terminals 25, 26 on the first end face 33A, and the battery pack 21 is mountable to either the first end face 33a or the connecting surface, when the battery pack 21 is fitted to external equipment.
