PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor switch capable of suppressing cost increase when assembling it, and avoiding changes in contact switching timing by surely fixing a movable contact to an operating part, even when it is used inside high-temperature oil. SOLUTION: This inhibitor switch is equipped with a terminal block 2, a contact plate 3 formed in the terminal block, an operation part 5 from the surface of which a metal rod 5, capable of interlocking with the select lever of a vehicle is protrusively formed, and the movable contact 5b, which is fixed to the backside of the operation part 5 by caulking and is capable of forming a prescribed electrical circuit according to its contact position by sliding on the contact plate 3. In this inhibitor switch for detecting the speed-changing position of the select lever, a positioning hole 7a for, when caulking the movable contact 5b to the operation part 5 is formed in the movable contact 5b, and the base end 5aa of a rod 5a is inserted in the positioning hole 7aa, while being protruded to the backside of the operation part 5 to make them engage with each other.
