PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) apparatus can not identify a target with good repeatability, because it verifies a target ISAR image chosen by an operator with multiple pseudo ISAR images (reference images) point by point, which are obtained based on target data containing characteristics of a plurality of target candidates being previously registered, and selects a candidate corresponding to a reference image having a high verification rate. SOLUTION: Pseudo ISAR images each having an image width equal to that of a range component of the target ISAR image which is detected at an arbitrary timing, are sequentially computed from the target data being previously registered and sequentially verified with above ISAR image, and then the candidate corresponding to the pseudo ISAR image having the high verification rate is selected, thereby identifying the target with good repeatability.
