PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily arrange an engine generator near a wall by preventing exhaust gas or cooling air from being delivered to a wall side, and to facilitate the operation of a control panel, in the engine generator in which an engine body of an engine and a generator driven by the engine are mounted to an open type frame. SOLUTION: An exhaust muffler 12 lengthened in a direction along the rotational axis of the generator G is arranged along one side upper part of the generator G. The control panel having a width matched with the width of the engine body is attached to the frame on a side opposite to the generator G and the exhaust muffler 12 with respect to the engine body. A muffler storage chamber 41 in which the exhaust muffler 12 is stored and to which cooling air from the engine body 11 and cooling air from the generator G are introduced is formed in a duct 40 separating the exhaust muffler 12 from the generator G. The discharging direction of exhaust air from the muffler storage chamber 41 and an exhaust gas direction from the exhaust muffler 12 are set opposite to the generator G. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
