PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick plate of charcoal formed by collecting a compressed material of a large quantity of wood chips discharged from an automatic wood working machine in a precutting factory, carbonizing it in a large-sized charcoal-making furnace to obtain charcoal, adding rice straw fiber, starch paste and water in the crushed charcoal as a main raw material, kneading the added material, pouring it into a form, compressing and dehydrating it by a press and drying it. SOLUTION: The thick plate of charcoal is formed by collecting and accumulating the large quantity of wood chips such as saw chips and cut chips discharged from the automatic wood working machine in the precutting factory, by a large-sized dust collector, collecting the machined material to be carbonized in the large-sized charcoal-making furnace, crushing the charcoal, adding rice straw fiber, starch paste and water therein, kneading, pouring the kneaded material in a form, and compressing, dehydrating and drying.
