PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood for an automobile capable of satisfying a basic performance of the hood of an automobile, in particular with excellent pedestrian protection required for a peripheral edge of the hood of the automobile. SOLUTION: In this hood 1 for an automobile, an outer panel 2 and an inner panel 3 are jointed at their peripheral edges, and a space is formed between the panels. The inner panel 3 comprises an inner peripheral edge 3a jointed to an outer peripheral edge 2a of the outer panel 2, a frame recessed part 4 continued to the inner peripheral edge 3a and forming the space between it and the outer panel 2, and a plurality of projected beads 7 having a joint face 5 jointed to the outer panel 2 at a panel central position from the frame recessed part 4, and a recessed part 6 forming the space between the adjacent beads 7. The beads 7 have notches 8 formed by notching at least one part of an inclined face continued to a bottom face of the frame recessed part 4 from the joint face 5 to reduce a deformation load on at least one of both longitudinal ends.
