PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire outstandingly enhancing anti-side cut performance by a carcass ply of one layer structure and making light weight and anti-cut resistance compatible at a high degree not obtained hitherto. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire, the pneumatic tire has a carcass layer comprising one sheet of a carcass ply 5; and a belt layer 6, and the carcass ply 5 comprises an organic fiber cord and coating rubber covered with the organic fiber cord. The organic fiber cord contains at least 50 mass% or more of a polyketone fiber, the single yarn size of the polyketone fiber is 0.5-2 dtex, crystallinity is 70-95%, crystalline orientation is 90% ore larger and density is 1.25 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or higher.
