<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for unitarily managing a device connected to a network and a device connected to an information processor connected to the network, after allowing discrimination of the devices individually. <P>SOLUTION: A device management server 1 determines if a request about the management of the device is a request for either of network devices (11a, 11b) or local devices (12a, 12b, 12c), transmits a command used in SNMP (simple network management protocol) if the request is for the network device, and transmits a PJL (printer job language) command to PCs (3a, 3b) connected with the local device if the request is for the local device.
