PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system capable of remotely operating various appliances by a simple method. SOLUTION: The remote control system is provided with a list of newest models of various appliances to be remotely operated, a transmission station 1 for collectively controlling key code group information of the various appliances and their operation manuals, a relay means 2 for relaying the transmission station 1 and a remote control terminal 3, and the remote control terminal 3 used for remotely operating a target appliance. The transmission station 1 transmits the list of newest models to the remote control terminal 3 via the relay means 2. The remote control terminal 3 selects a model from the list of newest models, and transmits its request signal to the transmission station 1 via the relay means 2. The transmission station 1 receives the request signal, and transmits the corresponding key code group information and operation its manual to the remote control terminal 3 via the relay means 2.
