PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain conveyor system, in which various devices and members can be provided, and installed at various positions while avoiding enlargement of width. SOLUTION: The system comprises a drive shaft 21 having drive sprockets 3 at both end parts for a pair of a right and a left article carrying chains 5 to be wound around them, and a drive unit 6 provided with an electric motor with an output shaft 42a provided in parallel to the drive shaft 21, and a reduction mechanism 43 to connect the drive shaft 21 to the output shaft 42, disposed between the pair of the right and the left article carrying chains 5.
