<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time for arithmetic encoding, in reference to the method of video compression. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of video compression, a frame or the object of compression is divided into a multitude of code blocks and respective code blocks are provided with a multitude of continuous coding paths while the coding paths are encoded in respective code blocks sequentially to calculate and store the number of coding bits and inclination of the strain, while the order of the coding paths is increased sequentially until the inclination becomes smaller than a predetermined reference value and all coding paths, comprised in at least one of the code blocks, are not encoded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
