<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device designed to reduce operating noise caused by conveying or stirring developer and attain sufficient charges applied to the developer and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 7 includes: a developing container 71, which stores magnetic developer; a developer carrier 72, which is disposed in the developing container 71, holds and conveys the developer, and develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier 1; a plurality of magnetic field generating parts 20, which are disposed at the bottom of the developing container 71 and capable of generating a magnetic field and stopping the generation of the magnetic field; and a magnetic field generation control means 100, which controls the generation and stop of a magnetic field by each of the magnetic field generating parts 20, thereby conveying or stirring the developer in the developing container 71. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
