<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive system of which the power consumption is reduced, and a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle drive system comprises a battery B1 which is a power accumulator, inverters 20 and 30 which are power converters for driving motor generators MG1 and MG2 using power accumulated in the battery B1, a switch 40 for connecting and disconnecting a power feed path from the battery B1 to the inverter 20 out of the inverters 20 and 30, a control device 60 for controlling the inverters 20 and 30 and the switch 40. The control device 60 controls the switch 40 into a connection state when the motor generator MG1 among the motor generators MG1 and MG2 is driven by the inverter 20, while controlling the switch 40 into a disconnected state when the inverter 20 is not used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
