<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly position the leading one of IC chips provided on the TAB tape of a new supply tape at a predetermined place. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic component feeder of the present invention comprises a supply reel 10 that supplies a supply tape 60 having a TAB tape 62 provided with multiple IC chips 65, and a punch die 16 that punches the TAB tape 62 to take out individual IC chips 65. The TAB tape 62 consists of a current TAB tape 62m and a next TAB tape 62n joined to the current TAB tape 62m. A detector 1 that detects at least the shape or dimensions of the IC chips 65 is provided, and a controller 3 in which the shape data or dimension data of the IC chips 65 is stored in advance is connected to the detector 1. When the controller 3 judges that the shape data or dimension data that is first input by the detector 1 after the last IC chip 65f on the TAB tape 62m has passed through the detector 1 matches the shape data or dimension data of the IC chips 65 stored in advance, the member being judged is fed to the punch die 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
