<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID reader device which can set a limited communication area appropriate to a site where it is used and efficiently stores only necessary ID information on an RFID tag. <P>SOLUTION: The RFID reader device compares the received power corresponding to the power of a response signal received from the RFID tag with the pre-set reference power value, and determines whether the RFID tag is located within a prescribed area or not. Then, if it determines that the RFID tag is located within the prescribed area, it stores ID information obtained by an ID information obtaining section.
