<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for forming transparent coat, usable for forming a transparent coat having at least two or more functions such as antireflection performance and hard-court function by coating one kind of coating material once. <P>SOLUTION: The coating material for forming transparent coat comprises (A) metal oxide fine particle (A) obtained by surface-treated with an organic silicon compound represented by below-mentioned formula (1) and/or a multifunctional acrylic ester resin having a hydrophobic functional group and having 5-80 μeq/g surface electric charge (Q<SB>A</SB>), (B) a matrix-forming component containing an organic silicon compound represented by below-mentioned formula (2), a hydrolysate or a hydrolyzate condensate thereof, and/or a multifunctional (meth)acrylic ester resin having a hydrophobic functional group, and (C) a poler solvent.
