SOLUTION: When image data are incoming from another facsimile machine during an abnormal state detected by a detection unit 22, a selection unit 31 refers to a dealing function reference table 11A and select a dealing function, corresponding to an item of the abnormal state, such as whether to perform a reception disability notification or to perform proxy reception.
