PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system in which a high diversity effect in the arbitrary number of antennas is made compatible with flexibility for a change in the number of antennas. SOLUTION: In a transmission apparatus 1, an encoding means 11 performs error-correcting encoding on an inputted information sequence. An interleaver 12 interleaves the encoded information sequence. A symbol generating means 13 converts the interleaved information sequence into a symbol sequence. A frequency offset application means 14_1 to 14_M applies frequency offset to a plurality of symbol sequences so that a difference of all the frequency offsets to be applied to the plurality of symbol sequences resulting from branching the converted symbol sequence becomes an integer multiple, other than 0, of a predetermined frequencyΔf.
