PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection display device constituted so that video light emitted from a video projection unit is reflected by a mirror and projected to a transmission type screen from the rear side, and achieving the reduction in cost of a component for holding a mirror and the cost of a metallic mold, the reduction in the number of components and the man-hour of assembly work and the improvement of mirror assembling accuracy and mirror holding strength. SOLUTION: In a structure where the mirror 8 is held on four sides on the inner surface of a back cover 5 covering the back side of the transmission type screen 7, the upper side of the mirror 8 is held by a mirror holder 12 that is a different component to be fixed on the back cover 5, and also the lower side and the right and left sides of the mirror 8 are held by holding pieces 13 and 14 molded integrally with the back cover 5.
