The present invention relates to a monorail catheter (10, 10', 10', 10'') with an integrally formed catheter tip (12) or an attached catheter tip, the monorail catheter (10, 10', 10', 10'') being designed as a single-layer or multi-layer balloon catheter. The monorail catheter (10, 10', 10', 10'') comprises at least one free lumen (18) for introduction of a liquid and/or gaseous medium.
