The airbag module for an occupant restraint system of a vehicle has the passage of an outflow opening (12) controlled by an outflow control element (16) which contains a rheopex material which encompasses it in ring form. The outflow control element is included in a plastic membrane (14) which encompasses the outflow opening, and the rheopex material is integrated into the plastic membrane. The plastic membrane envelopes the rheopex material in sleeve fashion.
