The use of a detonation internal combustion engine provided with a floating piston makes it possible to a control a detonation process and maintain a specified compression rate via electronic engine control unit by means of a pressure sensor and an electromagnetic return valve. The use of a spark plug not only got determining the compossion rate but also for igniting the air-and-fuel mixture in the range prior to a top dead center and thereafter, according to a qualitative composition and the compression rate, thereby extending the operational capabilities of the engine. The modification of the volume of a combustion chamber through a pressure control unit supplying oil between two pistons arranged in one cylinder makes it possible to maximally use the power thereof by using the spark plug. The detonation mode, where the maximum temperature of combustion products is relatively low thanks to an important volume of air, increases the service life and to reduce the fuel consumption, thereby rendering it ecologically clean.
