<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of lending a recording medium to a user with a minimized waiting time by ensuring stocks of recording media even in a state where a number of popular content media are lent in a rental video store. <P>SOLUTION: In this rental or sales system for content storage media, a video rental or sales department is provided with a means for downloading content data from a main server 1 set in a content delivery department to a hard disk device 4.
