PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that calculating a subject distance by using a triangulation method with a camera module keeping the optical axes of its two independent cameras collimated requires complicated correction and causes a lack in time-related stability and stability with respect to peripheral temperatures. SOLUTION: By using a compound-eye-type camera module having a plurality of lenses (12a, 12b) unified as a lens array (11), and a solid-state imaging element (16) wherein a plurality of imaging regions (17a, 17b) for detecting subject images photographed with these lenses are formed on a single semiconductor wafer, high-precision subject distance measurement stable against changes over time and changes in peripheral temperature becomes possible by performing only simple initial correction.
