PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a glass container having an electrostatic coating film and having an excellent effect of good design and a sense of high quality, and a very simple-structured apparatus for electrostatically coating a glass container capable of forming a coating film in a stable manner. SOLUTION: The method for preparing a glass container having an electrostatic coating film comprises steps of holding a glass container 11 equipped with an opening 12 upside down keeping the opening 12 open, retractably inserting an electrode member 45 into the inside 13 of the glass container 11 through the opening 12, causing the glass container 11 to rotate, and causing a powder paint 65 to stick to the surface 14 of the glass container 11 using a spray member 61 reciprocating in the height direction 11A of the glass container 11 held upside down to form a coating film 15.
