PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with excellent operatability capable of preventing a blanket from sticking to the suction opening of the vacuum cleaner when a user cleans the blanket. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a fan motor 1, an air flow detecting means 6, and a control means 3 controlling the input of the fan motor, an optimal input for cleaning the blanket is set by the control means 3, by reducing the input of the fan motor 1 from the input in an opened state before reducing the air flow, when a signal from the air volume detecting means 6 returns to the opened state from an air flow reduced state.
