A short message filtering method includes the steps: a message transmitted from foreign network to local network is routed to the signaling processing system of the local network; the signaling processing system transmits the MT short message in received message to SMSC of the local network; the SMSC of the local network filters the received MT short message; and the SMSC transmits the filtered legal MT short message to the corresponding MSC, and the MSC transmits the received MT short message to the short message receiver. The present invention could realize the purpose of filtering the short message transmitted from the foreign user to thelocal user or the local roaming user.
