PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of data of a spectrum reflection factor, and to form an image, where an object to be captured is reproduced faithfully. SOLUTION: In an image-forming device, when 31 spectrum reflection factors are calculated in pixel units with a wavelength interval of 10 nm, the interpolation function of the spectrum reflection factors is expressed by six characteristic vectors. The characteristic vectors are defined by using the spectrum reflection factor of various colors included in the object to be captured, thus expressing the interpolation function of the spectrum reflection factors having various characteristics precisely even for a relatively small number of characteristic vectors. The interpolation function of the spectrum reflection factors expressed in this manner nearly coincides with 31 spectrum reflection factors extracted with a wavelength interval of 10 nm in a wavelength range of 400-700 nm, thus calculating the interpolation function of the spectrum reflection factors without hardly reducing precision even if the amount of data is reduced to approximately 20% of the spectrum reflection factors.
