PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device capable of ensuring sufficient meshing efficiency of respective teeth part of a worm wheel and a worm shaft. SOLUTION: The power steering device is equipped with a speed reducing mechanism 10 composed of the worm shaft stored in a housing 11 and the worm wheel 16 meshing with the worm shaft, a holding member 27 which is disposed on the outer peripheral side of a lower end part 15b of the worm shaft and holds the lower end part of the worm shaft, an adjustment member 29 for adjusting the axial position of the holding member, and a guide member 31 which is provided on the outer peripheral side of the holding member and guides and moves the lower end part of the worm shaft by a tapered surface 34 through the holding member along with an advancing movement of the adjustment member. The meshing efficiency of the gear in the case of backlash adjustment of the speed reducing mechanism is improved by applying a force matching with the meshing direction of the speed reducing mechanism to the lower end part of the worm shaft.
