PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair an existing joint wherein a dimension of an annular space between an iron pipe and a sleeve member is varied by secular change with suitable water stop performance. SOLUTION: In this repairing method of the existing joint, the iron pipe 10 is inserted into the sleeve member 20, a filling member 40 is arranged in the annular space 31 formed between an inner peripheral surface 20a of the sleeve member 20 and an outer peripheral surface 10a of the iron pipe 10. In the filling member 40, water stop packing 41 and 42 and grease cotton 43 are arranged in order from an inner side to an opening side of the sleeve 20, the existing filling member 40 is pulled out of the existing joint connected by pressing and fitting the filling member 40 from the opening side of the sleeve member 20 by a stop metal fitting 50, and a new filling member 60 is arranged. After arranging new inner side waterproofing packing 61 and 62 and new grease cotton 63 in order from the inner side as the new filling member 60, new outer side water stop packing 64 formed by an elastic member is arranged, and the stop metal fitting 50 is attached.
