PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform restoration of data according to a restoration request with a time designated based on a host device. SOLUTION: This storage device comprises a storage part and a control part controlling it. A data volume, a journal volume, and a snap shot volume are formed on the storage part. The storage device stores, according to a writing request transmitted from the host device, predetermined data based on the writing request in the data volume, and stores, for a restoration point setting request containing host time information transmitted from the host device, backup data associated with the host time information in a predetermined volume. In restoration of data, the storage device restores the data by applying, based on host time information contained in a restoration request transmitted from the host device, snap shot data to the data volume and further applying journal data.
