A spindle motor is provided to reduce the number of components and cut down a process of assembling the components by controlling rotation of a rotation shaft with a driving IC. A bearing housing(120) is installed on a base(110), and has bearings(130). A rotation shaft(140) is rotatably supported by the bearings. A stator(150) has a core(151) engaged to an outer surface of the bearing housing and plural coils(155) wound around the core. A rotor(160) has a rotor yoke(161) engaged to the rotation shaft and enclosing the stator, and a magnet(165) fixed to the rotor yoke. Plural lead wires(155a) are connected to the coils and a driving IC(180) which receives a waveform of counter electromotive force generated from the coil and sends the received waveform to a controller.
