A mass spectrometer is disclosed comprising an ion mobility spectrometer or separator, an ion guide arranged downstream of the ion mobility spectrometer or separator and a mass analyser downstream of the ion guide. The ion guide comprises an ion funnel comprising a plurality of electrodes having apertures that become progressively smaller in size or area. An AC or RF voltage is applied to the electrodes of the ion guide to confine ions radially. |
