A method for colouring a spray urethane skin for vehicle interior trim components and articles made thereby

A polyurethane skin 96 is made from an in-moulded coating layer 100 of a specific colour and a skin body layer 98 of essentially the same colour. The skin body layer 98 is visible through any gaps 102 in the coating layer 100. The in-mould coating layer 100 is applied to a mould surface and a polyol, isocyanate and colourant are mixed to produce a coloured polyurethane forming mixture, which is sprayed onto the mould. The polyurethane skin (96) is for the interior component for a vehicle.
