A sports-pitch fencing structure comprises a series of sections 2 located between individual pairs of spaced, upright posts 3, each section 2 includes a laminated-timber rebound board 4 which is retained between upper and lower, horizontal rails 5,6 that are bolted between the pair of posts 3. The board 4 is retained with its top edge 20 slotted into a downwardly-open channel 17 of the rail 5 and its bottom edge 15 slotted into an upwardly-open channel 10 of the lower rail 6. The rear face 9 of each board 4 abuts laterally-extending plates 8 welded to the two posts 3 of the section 2 to enhance retention of the board 4 under frontal impact. The space above the board 4 in each section 2 is filled by netting or mesh fencing 7 attached to the two posts 3 and clamped to the upper rail 5. |
