[Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] The walls of a fibre container for milk &c. are formed with grooves 21 on the horizontal portion of which are seated end closures 13, the edges of such closures being held by turning over, as at 23, the ends of the walls. The container is of square cross-section and is made by winding a blank into tubular form and joining the overlapping edges, which are preferably positioned at one corner of the container. A pouring opening provided in the top closure near a corner thereof can be closed by a hinged plug 27, the latter being made from fibrous material and integral with a tab 30 by which the container can be hung up. The plug has a lifting tab 28 and is stapled to the container at 26. The formed container is covered inside and out with paraffin wax and the plug is sealed in position. When later it is desired to fill the container, the plug is lifted, the liquid run in, and the plug reinserted and sealed by forming a bead 35 therein. |
