An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a sheet are provided to perform processes of drawing out the sheet, inserting the sheet, and tentering the sheet, accurately and promptly, by using pairs of upper and lower clamping elements for clamping an end portion of the sheet. An end portion of a sheet(S) drawn out from a feeder is clamped by a pair of upper and lower clamping elements(14-1,16-1) of plural pairs. The sheet is drawn out from the initial position to the end position in a spread state. While the sheet is tentered on a pin tenter in the spread state, another pair of upper and lower clamping elements(14-3,16-3) at the end position are separated from each other and moved along the respective rails into the initial position. The end portion of the sheet drawn out from the feeder is clamped from above and below at the initial position by the upper and lower clamping elements, which are returned to the initial position. |
