[Class 8 (ii)] A measured quantity of liquefied gas is delivered by a pump 4 into a vessel 18 contained in a vaporizer 17 ; the liquid is transferred to the vaporizer and the gas evolved stored in a pressure container 33. The delivery from the vessel to the vaporizer is effected through an aperture controlled by a needle valve on the end of a spindle 21 controlled by a float 19 ; the spindle is held open by a ball catch and afterwards released by a screwed rod 23 acting on it through a spring. A tilting bucket with an adjustable weight may replace the vessel 18. The vaporizer may be enclosed in a vessel of brine &c., and the pump may be submerged in the liquefied gas.</p> |
