APPARATUS FOR MEASURING PARTIAL FAT OF BODY AND METHOD THEREOF

An apparatus and a method for measuring a partial fat of a body are provided to improve accuracy and reliability of a measured subcutaneous fat by measuring a subcutaneous fat using a detected optical signal. An apparatus for measuring body fat includes an optical source(411), an optical detector(412), a moving control unit(424), and a main control unit(423). The optical source(411) illuminates a light to a body measuring part. The optical detector(412) detects an optical signal reflected from the body measuring part. The moving control unit(424) controls the optical source(411) or the optical detector(412) to be moved to adjust a direction or a distance between the optical source(411) and the optical detector(412). The main control unit(423) calculates body fat of a measured parts by using the optical signal detected in the optical detector(412).
