A duplication booting apparatus and method in a network system are provided to supply a service without interruption even when software is defective. When a network system is normally booted through a system software image(S1), a state of a boot status flag is changed to 'abnormal' to check a previous booting state when the next booting is performed(S2). It is checked whether a header of the system software image is normal(S3). When the header of the system software image is normal, the system is booted to provide a service and the state of the boot status flag is changed to 'normal'(S4).
