A water-soluble organometallic nanoparticle is provided to secure the anti-cancer effect without toxicity through EPR(Enhanced Permeation and Retention effect). And a method for preparing the same is provided. An organometallic nanoparticle consists of a multidentate metal chelating organic polymer and at least one metal and has the anti-cancer effect through EPR(Enhanced Permeation and Retention effect) effect. The method for preparing the organometallic nanoparticle comprises the steps of: (a) performing esterification-polymerization reaction on at least two organic acids or amine acids having a multidentate metal chelating group; and (b) fusing the organic polymer obtained from the step(a) into a metallic ingredient.
