PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readably display characters to be displayed while reproducing a moving image. SOLUTION: An advanced subtitle contains a set of character strings corresponding to a plurality of character display terms included in a reproduction time for reproducing a moving image, and a disk reproducing device generates a character image containing a set of character strings corresponding to a character display term based on the advanced subtitle (S10), reproduces the moving image based on motion picture data at a double reproduction speed corresponding to the number of characters in the set of character strings corresponding to the character display term (S09), and mixes a generated character image with the reproduced moving image (S12) during a period of time determined from the character display term corresponding to the character image and the double reproduction speed (NO in S13).
