PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar speaker adapted to the flattening of frequency characteristics and the enlarging and thinning of a display device without restricting a position attached with an actuator. SOLUTION: The planar speaker comprises a diaphragm (10) with a great longitudinal length ratio, a casing (30) supporting the diaphragm (10) at the edge of an opening, and one or a plurality of actuators (21, 22, 23...) attached to the rear side of the diaphragm (10) to generate sounds of different pitch extents or different right and left channels. The planar speaker further includes reinforcement members (11, 12) which are attached on the rear side of the diaphragm (10) and extend in the lengthwise direction thereof.
