<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emitting element capable of exerting and keeping extremely stable state and performance without causing deterioration, damage or loss of material while keeping extremely high-level current density by using BN (boron nitride) for an electron emission material, and excelling in electron emission performance. <P>SOLUTION: This electron emitting element is formed out of a Sp<SP>3</SP>binding boron nitride group formed into a conical projection structure with a pointed tip, and emits electrons by applying a predetermined voltage thereto.
