PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device and an imaging device capable of inputting information effective for image retrieval although the configurations are simple. SOLUTION: This portable device (10) is characterized by making at least a part of the two-dimensional characteristics of an image intended by a user input as a retrieval key of image retrieval by user interfaces (13, 11) installed on the device main body. It is not necessary to provide any accessory in this kind of portable device that the configuration is simple. Also, it is possible even for the user interfaces installed on the device main body to sufficiently input the simple two-dimensional characteristics in which the outline of a pattern is not included. Even when this portable device is simply characterized, it is possible to expect fixed retrieval effects as long as this includes distribution information on the image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
