PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether or not a predetermined object has been projected by scene units. SOLUTION: Scene change is detected, and a whole video is divided into three scenes ranging a scene 1 to a scene 3. Also, face detection is operated by using a still image configuring the video as the object. Whether or not each scene is a face scene on which the face of a person is projected is discriminated by performing pattern recognition using data obtained by modeling the time series of characteristics to be acquired from each of static images configuring face scenes such as the position of the face detected and the area of the face detected from the static image configuring the face scene and the information of the position and area of the section detected as the face from the static image configuring the scene as the object of discrimination.
