PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove an object winch is removed in a state that a boom derricking member is attached to a turning frame without removing an derricking wire rope connected to a boom derricking winch. SOLUTION: The winch removal method for the winch includes a connection switching step for connecting a mast 7 so that a portion at the tip 7a side of the mast 7 and a portion of the turning frame 2 corresponding to the portion are turnable in a direction that the mast 7 stands in a state that its tip 7b is fallen to a rear side to form a standing fulcrum 14 and releasing the connection of a base end 7a of the mast and the turning frame 2; a mast standing step for standing the mast by being turned to a direction that the base end 7a is ascended making the standing fulcrum 14 as a center and maintaining a standing attitude; a fixing releasing step for releasing the fixing of object winches 4, 5 removed to the turning frame 2; and a winch removal step for removing the object winches 4, 5 removed released in fixing from below the mast 7 in a state that the mast 7 is in the standing attitude.
