<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facility monitoring system capable of minimizing the amount of acquisition of various operation data within a range with no hindrance in carrying out prediction maintenance and diagnostic activity. <P>SOLUTION: An operation data acquiring means 3 acquires operation data concerning each operating part at predetermined measuring intervals set to every operating part constituting a facility 2, and the acquired operation data are stored in an operation data storage means 22. A degradation level determining means 24 reads operation data for every operation part from the operation data storage means 22 and determines a degradation level which is an index showing a degraded state according to the statistic of the operation data and gives it to a measuring interval computing means 25. The measuring interval computing means 25 determines measuring intervals according to the grade of the degradation level, and the grade of the determined measuring intervals is given again to the operation data acquiring means 3.
