PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid storage battery capable of suppressing stratification of electrolytic liquid of the lead acid storage battery without using a complicated mechanism such as a stirring motor and an air bubble generator. SOLUTION: A space sufficient for electrolytic liquid 110 to flow is provided between both side faces 107a of the electrode plate group 107 and the battery case side walls 108a corresponding to both side faces, and between the bottom face 107c of the electrode plate group and the battery case bottom wall 108b in the lead acid storage battery 101. Then, a partition wall 113 which is installed from the inner face of the lid 109 to the upper face 107b of the electrode plate group 107b and divides into two the space on the electrolytic liquid face 110a is provided between a positive electrode strap 105 and a negative electrode strap 106 installed at the upper part of the electrode group, and a communication passage 113a to communicate mutually the divided spaces is provided at the upper position than the electrolyte liquid face of the partition wall.
